QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A clearer picture before your first bid.

Understand what Bidwright does, what you bring to the workspace and how the pieces fit together.

Getting started

Who is Bidwright for?

Bidwright is designed for general contractors, remodelers and specialty trades that want project scope, reviewed takeoffs, verified costs and proposals in one connected workspace. Owners, estimators, project managers and viewers have different permissions.

How do I create a workspace?

Create an organization with your name, email and company details. Your organization starts separately from the shared demo. Add your clients, projects, approved rates and estimating defaults before preparing a commercial bid.

Can I use my own prices and company defaults?

Yes. Add approved material and labor rates to your organization's cost library and set your overhead, contingency, markup and tax preferences. Bidwright does not supply trusted market prices on your behalf.

Do I need to use AI?

No. You can enter takeoff items and quantities manually, use your approved rates and prepare estimates and proposals without external AI analysis.

Scope, AI & quantities

What does the AI actually do?

It interprets extracted scope text and proposes items with source evidence. Suggestions require human review. AI does not verify site measurements, approve a quantity or invent a trusted material price.

Which documents can I bring into a project?

The project workflow supports PDF and Word scope documents and site images. The original files remain connected to the project so your team can review evidence and assumptions. Extraction quality depends on the clarity of the source.

Is my organization's consent required for external AI?

Yes. An organization owner or admin must authorize external processing in Settings. Review your document obligations before allowing analysis. The shared synthetic demo uses offline fixture analysis instead of an external provider.

What happens when the included AI allowance is used?

The workspace shows actual analysis availability and usage. Manual takeoffs, pricing, estimates and proposals remain available when the analysis allowance is exhausted. The allowance is not an unlimited-use promise.

Estimates, proposals & access

How is the estimate calculated?

The estimate uses reviewed quantities and your approved rates, with explicit adjustments for material waste, overhead, contingency, markup and configured tax. Calculations are deterministic; the AI does not choose your final bid price.

Can I create a proposal PDF?

Yes. Prepare a branded proposal PDF with scope, exclusions, payment milestones and terms. Review the document before sharing it with a client.

Can I change an estimate after approval?

Create a new revision with a reason and compare it with the earlier version. Approved financial snapshots remain preserved. Change orders track approved adjustments against the accepted proposal baseline.

Does Bidwright send proposals or sign contracts for me?

The workflow generates the proposal PDF and records client decisions. Share the reviewed PDF through your own communication process. Recording an approval is not an external e-signature service.

How is team access organized?

Projects and records belong to an organization. Role-based permissions distinguish owners, estimators, project managers and viewers; project assignments help control who works on a project.
